A sweet, ambery perfume with many shades of sweet packed into a single formula: heliotrope, vanilla, caramel, toffee and benzoin, all interlinked with a soft sandalwood theme.
Bon Parfumeur open olfactive dimensions and invite you to add your own story. Try 402 if you like sophisticated gourmands.
Perfumer for 402: Corinne Cachen.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
An unhurried afternoon break, with sugar still on your fingertips and conversation kept close. The vanilla and caramel bring an unmistakably edible sweetness, while powdery textures and sandalwood give the wearer a softer, more composed presence.
How to wear
Its sweet, ambery profile lends itself to cool or mild weather. Start with one or two sprays on skin, allowing the vanilla, benzoin and sandalwood to settle before adding more. In warmer conditions or close quarters, a lighter application should keep the confectionery richness from dominating.
Who it’s for
For lovers of rounded, dessert-like gourmands who want vanilla and caramel supported by soft woods and balsamic depth. Especially appealing if you enjoy powdery sweetness rather than sharp freshness or dry, austere woods.
Release year
2017 (or 2016), renamed 2026
The nose
Corinne Cachen created 402. She describes the composition through powdery, icy effects and vanilla’s childhood-like sweetness: a gourmand built around contrasting textures, with sugary richness softened by sandalwood and benzoin.
Collaborators
Bon Parfumeur founder Ludovic Bonneton supplied the snack-inspired concept, recalling an idea that came to him while eating at Place des Vosges in Paris. His sensory memory provided the creative starting point for Corinne Cachen’s composition.
Bon Parfumeur’s story
Bon Parfumeur turns memories, emotions and travels into gender-inclusive fragrances, using numbers, family colors and highlighted ingredients to make perfumery easier to navigate. Its approach pairs this accessible vocabulary with French production and an emphasis on local craftsmanship.
402 Guilty Vanilla’s concept
402 began with a food-related memory at Place des Vosges in Paris, translated into vanilla sweetness, powdery effects and soft woods. Previously called 402 Vanilla, Toffee, Sandalwood, it became Guilty Vanilla in the Signature Collection’s renaming and visual refresh; the new presentation does not itself establish a reformulation.
Extra info
The number 402 is a navigation code: the first digit identifies the fragrance family, while the final two indicate its order within that family. Bon Parfumeur currently calls the 400 family Vanilla & Musk, making 402 its second creation in that group.
