802 Nymphéa Céleste - Bon Parfumeur - Bloom Perfumery

A very interesting addition to the sea of marine fragrances. An aquatic smooth leather, a rather novel combination but beautifully executed. 802 is a smooth sleek osmanthus, musky peony and velvety ambrette mix, reminiscent of suede or really fine leather gloves aroma.

Perfumer for 802: Nathalie Koobus.

All about this fragrance

Vibe check

After a swim and a shower, with damp hair and a soft cotton shirt, 802 suits the quiet pause before returning to the day. Its watery peony and suede-like softness suggest a composed, close-range presence rather than the sharp freshness of a sports fragrance.

How to wear

A natural choice for mild spring days and summer warmth, when its transparent aquatic character feels most at ease. Start with one or two sprays on the neck or forearms for a restrained effect; the watery floral opening gives way to softer, musky, suede-like nuances.

Who it’s for

For those who enjoy aquatic fragrances but prefer soft florals and tactile musk to a sharply bracing marine effect. Its green transparency and smooth, leather-like undertone will appeal to tastes that favor subtle texture over sweetness or density.

The nose

Jacques Chabert. The French perfumer brings a delicate floral sensibility to 802, balancing watery freshness with the softer textures of musk, osmanthus and ambrette. His creative imagery for the fragrance draws on childhood memories of picking flowers and a bouquet of freesias opening an imaginary passage into a garden.

Collaborators

Ludovic Bonneton, Bon Parfumeur’s founder, shaped the fragrance’s conceptual direction through his wish to preserve the meditative atmosphere of Giverny. That garden-inspired vision provided the emotional starting point for Jacques Chabert’s composition.

Bon Parfumeur’s story

Bon Parfumeur translates memories and emotions into contemporary, French-made fragrances. Its numbered, color-coded collection makes fragrance families easy to navigate, while three highlighted notes offer an immediate guide to each composition. Layering is part of the house’s approach, inviting wearers to create personal combinations.

802 Nymphéa Céleste’s concept

802 grew from the desire to capture Giverny’s meditative garden atmosphere. Watery florals and green bamboo give that idea an airy form, while musk, osmanthus and ambrette soften its edges. Originally known as 802 Pivoine, Lotus, Bambou, it now carries the name Nymphéa Céleste.

Extra info

The number 802 identifies the second creation in Bon Parfumeur’s 800 aquatic family. Its earlier name, Pivoine, Lotus, Bambou, highlighted peony, lotus and bamboo; the current name, Nymphéa Céleste, means “celestial water lily.”
