All about this fragrance

Vibe check

The conversation has slowed, but nobody is ready to leave. Rum-laced maple sweetness gives Drunk Maple an indulgent late-evening presence, while bitter coffee keeps it from feeling purely confectionery. It suits a relaxed, close gathering where a substantial scent has room to linger.

How to wear

Start with one spray on the torso or back of the neck; this is a substantial gourmand, so assess its reach before adding more. Cool weather suits its syrupy rum and balsamic woods. In warm rooms, a lighter application keeps the sweetness from dominating the air.

Who it’s for

For those who enjoy dense, boozy gourmands with a roasted edge rather than straightforward dessert sweetness. Maple syrup and rum lead the appeal, while coffee, soft suede and sandalwood offer texture for wearers who want their edible fragrances grounded in woods.

The nose

Alex Lee composed Drunk Maple, building its gourmand character around maple syrup, rum and coffee. Roasted bitterness offsets the syrupy sweetness, while suede, sandalwood and benzoin give the composition texture and a warm foundation.

Collaborators

Founder Jun Lim supplied the personal inspiration behind Drunk Maple: an enthusiasm for maple syrup that he described as strong enough to drink it. That appetite provided the creative starting point for Alex Lee’s composition.

BORNTOSTANDOUT’s story

Founded in Seoul by Jun Lim, BORNTOSTANDOUT treats fragrance as a form of self-expression rather than conformity. Provocative concepts accompany compositions that freely combine natural and synthetic materials. Its white porcelain-inspired bottles and red lettering connect Korean cultural heritage with the house’s rebellious outlook.

DRUNK MAPLE’s concept

Drunk Maple grew from Jun Lim’s personal obsession with maple syrup. The concept turns that craving into a boozy gourmand, enriching syrupy sweetness with aged rum and using roasted coffee as a bitter counterpoint. Caramelized sugar and toasted wood shape the fragrance’s indulgent imagery.

Extra info

Coffee has a deliberate balancing role in the composition: its roasted bitterness and smoky nuances counter the maple sweetness. The bottle follows the house’s reinterpretation of Joseon-era white porcelain drinking vessels, linking its presentation to Korean heritage.
