All about this fragrance

Vibe check

A soft sweater, a notebook crowded with unrelated ideas, a conversation that keeps changing direction: Hasard Bazar suits an informal, curious presence. Pepper gives its plush rose-and-musk warmth a little restlessness, keeping the mood intimate without becoming sleepy.

How to wear

Its amber, vanilla and powdery musk accord makes a natural choice for mild or cool weather. Start with one or two sprays on the neck or chest for a softly enveloping effect. In warmer conditions, apply more lightly so the rose and pepper retain their contrast against the warm base.

Who it’s for

For those drawn to plush amber fragrances but who prefer a spicy accent to uninterrupted sweetness. It will appeal to lovers of powdery rose, soft musk and patchouli, especially when those familiar materials are framed with a more contemporary ambrox texture.

The nose

Ane Ayo and Fabrice Pellegrin co-created Hasard Bazar, balancing its peppery opening and rose heart with an enveloping amber–vanilla base. Ayo’s work spans niche and designer perfumery, with an emphasis on contemporary, approachable compositions. Pellegrin is known for his sensitivity to natural materials and his ability to give warm, textured fragrances a sense of clarity. His work includes Diptyque’s Eau Duelle and Do Son; here, that textural approach finds expression in rose, ambrox, patchouli and musk.

Collaborators

Mathilde Purseigle created the illustration associated with Hasard Bazar, giving its theme of chance and personal expression a distinctive visual identity on the bottle.

Maison Matine’s story

Maison Matine treats perfume as a collaborative, accessible form of self-expression rather than a symbol of status or seduction. Its fragrances bring perfumers and graphic designers together, pairing inclusive concepts with illustrated bottles. The house also emphasizes practical environmental choices, including organic wheat alcohol and cardboard packaging without cellophane.

Hasard Bazar’s concept

Hasard Bazar was conceived around creative multiplicity: the freedom to have several interests and identities rather than one defining label. Its launch concept addressed the “Slasher Generation,” while its second-skin imagery leaves space for the wearer’s own expression. Pepper, rose and soft amber warmth translate that idea into a composition with contrasting textures.

Extra info

Hasard Bazar belongs to Maison Matine’s six-fragrance Origine collection. Its launch presentation playfully mixed real ingredients with conceptual “notes” such as serendipity and daring. The official 50 ml eau de parfum contains 15% fragrance concentrate and is made in France using organic wheat alcohol.
