The nose

Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié, a perfumer at Givaudan, created Isla Bohemia. Working from a brief built around fruitiness, sweetness and a grounded feel, she developed the icy pear effect, added iris and musk for softness, and balanced the composition with warm vanilla.

Collaborators

Sara Carner, the house’s founder and creative director, shaped the Mediterranean island concept and collaborated with Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié on its interpretation. Their creative brief sought to balance juicy freshness with sensual texture and a grounded, mellow base.

Its identity joins expressive perfumery with a respect for craftsmanship, reflected in carefully selected ingredients, handmade packaging and the house’s signature wooden caps.

Isla Bohemia’s concept

Isla Bohemia began with the imagined freedom of a wild, sunlit Mediterranean island, without reference to a specific destination. The brief—fruity, sweet and grounded—took shape through an icy pear opening, the soft texture of iris and musk, and vanilla warmth, refined to preserve both freshness and depth.

Extra info

Despite its island inspiration, Isla Bohemia has no marine or salt accord in its official note pyramid. Its Mediterranean character is instead expressed through icy pear, soft iris and a base featuring Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla.
