KIRSCH
Perfumer: PAUL GUERLAIN
Seduction is a skill; attraction, an instinct. The decor is in place: a wooden table, leather stools, a few irises to decorate and, temptingly, plump cherries. Alternating between gallant delicacy and implicit animality. Elegance obliges, serve the other first, a nod to the ceremonial tradition of sake and kirsch. A toast to good fortune, renewal and the infinite possibilities of late evening. Getting to know each other and devouring each other at the same time. Enjoy the present with passion and gratitude. Invite or acquiesce. All that remains is to choose between ephemeral or eternal adventure.
A luscious, liqueur-like cherry melts into the powdery, iridescent meanders of sake. Saffron unfurls its leathery facets, extending into a firm, comfortable suede accord. Wood and moss add a woody patina.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
Across a small wooden table, the conversation slows and a second drink remains unfinished. KIRSCH suits that shift from polite attention to mutual attraction: its cherry sweetness feels inviting, while powdery sake and suede give the encounter a more restrained, tactile edge.
How to wear
Start with one or two sprays on skin, allowing the cherry, powdery iris and suede to settle together. Mild to cool weather is a natural setting for its liqueur-like sweetness; in warmer air or close quarters, use a lighter application to keep the balance intimate rather than overly sweet.
Who it’s for
For those who enjoy cherry fragrances with more texture than confectionery sweetness. The combination of sake, iris, saffron and suede will appeal to tastes that favour boozy fruit, powdery contrasts and supple leather over bright, juicy freshness.

The nose
Paul Guerlain composed KIRSCH around a dialogue between luscious fruit, powdery softness and leather. His approach explores how materials attract, oppose and reveal one another; here, the cherry accord meets a reconstruction of sake, with saffron bringing the composition towards suede.
Headspace’s story
Founded by Nicolas Chabot, HEADSPACE brings science and poetry together to preserve fleeting smells and emotional impressions. The house combines prominent natural raw materials with headspace reconstructions: analysed and recreated airborne scents that turn unexpected subjects into wearable compositions.
KIRSCH’s concept
KIRSCH imagines the anticipation of a first date: a wooden table, leather stools, irises and ripe cherries, with drinks shared as the conversation becomes more intimate. Paul Guerlain translates that scene into liqueur-like fruit, powdery sake and saffron-toned suede, grounded by woods and moss.
Extra info
Despite its cherry-led identity, KIRSCH uses traditional sake as its headspace subject: an olfactory reconstruction rather than evidence of sake being added as a beverage ingredient. Jules Dinand's bottle design draws on perfumers' laboratory vials, with a minimalist paper label and black Bakelite cap.
