PG29 ITABAÏA
Theme N°29 : Hesperimental
An experiment in citruses effect, ITABAÏA is the latest addition to the hesperidic genre in Pierre Guillaume's collection. It holds fresh and fruity notes that are barely concealed by the wisps of an illicit spliff: it has a neo-chypre air thanks to the hemp and vanilla accords.
Like it’s name; ITABAÏA was created by the perfumer with elegance and mystery in mind. Both the word and the perfume impresses with an exotic sound and smell, evoking Brazil, dance, a divinity…
Pierre Guillaume was inspired by the strength and energy associated with Capoeira; the Afro-Brazilian art that combines dance and wrestling. The perfume conjures the Brazilian beach of Itacaré, where dance warriors perform an acrobatic and solar ballet to the rhythm of Berimbau and feverish songs, dazzling the spectator with power, grace and harmony.
Like the sand dispersed in the wind by the acrobatic movements of the Capoeira dancers at sunset, ITABAÏA is a citrus heat wave coloured with vanilla and hemp. Its floral-fruity heart releases the green powdery scrolls of the Jurema flower tinged with a hint of passion fruit.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
For the hour when the sun is lower but the pavement still holds its warmth. Bright citrus keeps the mood animated; green hemp and soft vanilla give it a more relaxed, tactile undertone. It suits informal company and movement rather than a hushed, formal setting.
How to wear
Try it in spring or summer, particularly when the air is warm rather than intensely hot. Begin with a light application to the neck or forearms: the citrus-green character suggests brightness, while vanilla and woody warmth add body. In close indoor settings, keep the application restrained.
Who it’s for
For citrus lovers who want more texture than a conventional cologne, and for those drawn to green, aromatic fragrances with a softly sweet base. The hemp, tropical fruit and powdery floral contrast will appeal to tastes that favour unusual freshness over sharp, purely zesty compositions.

The nose
Pierre Guillaume is an independent French perfumer with a background in chemistry. His compositions often combine unexpected gourmand, woody and musky textures with an emphasis on wearability, as in Musc Maori and Cozé. For ITABAÏA, he explores citrus through contrasting sensations: bright fruit, green floral powderiness and the warmth of hemp and vanilla.
Pierre Guillaume - Parfumerie Générale’s story
Pierre Guillaume Paris, formerly Parfumerie Générale, centres its identity on creative independence, with composition and manufacturing kept in-house. Its numbered collection develops olfactory themes rather than simply following conventional fragrance families, balancing technical experimentation with poetic, wearable results.
PG29 ITABAÏA’s concept
ITABAÏA introduces theme 29, “Hespérimental”: an experiment in citrus freshness and warmth. Guillaume drew inspiration from the strength and grace of capoeira, imagining performers on Brazil’s Itacaré beach moving to berimbau music. Green fruit and citrus convey that energy, while vanilla and hemp suggest the warmth of sand stirred into the evening air.
Extra info
ITABAÏA is an invented name, chosen for sounds that suggest Brazil, dance and a divinity rather than a literal translation. Its “hibiscus wood” is an accord combining warm, amber-musky facets of hibiscus seed with woody notes.
