When the red spider lily, the white lily ginger and the frangipane bloom, encircling the streets, and the lotus opens onto the smallest mirrors of water, the landscapes become fragrance in turn. Among the flowers of Bali, the inhabitants have made the Frangipane, the emblem of their island to offer to the gods of the Hindu pantheon. Centered to ceremonies, dances, offerings where smells and colors mix until they become one, it seemed to me then that the scent of those flowers told the beauty and diversity of the island.»

Divine Lotus is inspired by the sacred flower that rises untouched above murky waters. The lotus stands bright and serene on the surface, yet its roots remain deep in damp, muddy earth. Divine Lotus opens with white and pink lotus, radiant, watery florals that reflect purity and clarity. As the scent evolves, the hidden world beneath the waterline begins to surface — earthy, animalic and softly damp nuances echo the lotus root’s stamina and strength below. 

Orkney, an archipelago located to the north of Scotland, plays host to the inspiration for this fragrance. According to ancient Orkney myth, shapeshifting creatures – selkies – inhabit the bodies of seals who, coming out of the water, shed their skin to walk among humans. Often in these legends the selkie’s skin is found and hidden by local men, and they are forced to marry their human captor.

But in our version of this tale, the selkie takes control. Furious that he has tanned her precious skin, the selkie poisons her captor, reclaiming the leather and returning finally to the tumbling sea.

Sirenide Eau de Parfum is a suitably formidable fragrance: powerful and haunting, with triplicate aspects of ‘skins’ developing on your own. PVC melds with pinseal and an unnerving bitter almond note; water flowers blossom and die, returning to the water.
